Jac's Peace Alphabet

I’ve been thinking about the second alphabet. This will be the peace alphabet.

I’m working on the idea of intervals of peace/silence interspersed between all the noise and chatter of daily life. I’ve had an idea for the structure and how to represent the noise.

I decided I wanted the letters to feel quite delicate, almost ephemeral. So, after much experimentation/messing around, I’ve chosen to use handmade (but not by me) paper, iridescent ink and organza ribbons.

I’ll stick these into the structure later when I’ve finished it

  1. Love the layers. Does the paper have the 'lines' in it. If so, I can't imagine how you brought yourself to use it!

  2. The lines are the edges of the ribbons that I've put on top of the paper. Apart from these edges the organza is almost sheer, it just shimmers to add sparkle. (I'm a sucker for shinny things, I think I may have been a magpie in another life)
